FAQs

  • How does the "Build Your Own" process work?

It’s simple! You choose whether you want me to source a specific 45 RPM or 33 RPM vinyl record for you (Option A), or if you want to send in a sentimental record of your own (Option B). From there, you can select your favorite natural accents (like mushrooms, crystal quartz, rocks, or pinecones) to frame the record inside an 8X8 or 13X13 shadow box.

What kind of records do you use if you source them?

I specifically search for vintage, unplayable, or scratched stock to give "dead" music a brand-new life as display art.

Will my record still be playable after it’s framed?

No. Because the vinyl is securely mounted whole onto a natural wood backing, these pieces are strictly intended as decorative wall art.

  • Are the forest accents real?

No, I use high-quality faux and replicas for elements like the mushrooms to ensure your art piece remains pristine, durable, and completely bug-free for years to face the elements on your wall!

  • How long will it take to get my custom order?

For custom orders where I source the vinyl, or once I receive your mailed-in record, my typical processing time to hand-arrange and assemble your piece is 1–2 weeks before it ships.

    What is your return policy?

Because every piece is individually handcrafted and custom-made to your exact specifications, all sales are final. I do not accept returns or exchanges on custom items.

What if my item arrives damaged?

I take immense care in packing your art safely, but if your item arrives damaged during transit, please contact me within 48 hours of delivery with a photo of the issue so I can make it right for you.

  • Can I send you a specific record from my own collection to upcycle?

Absolutely! I love working with your personal records to create meaningful, custom art. Whether it’s a favorite album, a vintage find, or a sentimental piece that is too scratched to play, we can breathe new life into it.

How should I package my record so it arrives safely?

Vinyl can warp in high heat or crack if dropped, so safe packaging is key! Here is the best way to mail your record to the studio:

    • Use a dedicated record mailer: A stiff, cardboard vinyl shipping box is highly recommended. (You can reuse one you’ve received in the mail or find them at local shipping stores).

    • Sandwich with extra cardboard: Place the record between two extra sheets of stiff cardboard inside the mailer to prevent bending.

    • Keep it snug: Fill any empty space with bubble wrap or packing paper so the record doesn't slide around during transit.

    • Mark the box: Write "FRAGILE: DO NOT BEND" clearly on the outside of the package.

What kind of shipping service should I use?

We highly recommend using a shipping service that includes tracking (such as USPS Ground Advantage or USPS Priority Mail) so you can follow your record's journey. Once you ship your package, please email us the tracking number so we know exactly when to look out for it!

Where do I mail my record?

Once your custom order is placed and confirmed, we will email you the exact studio shipping address along with instructions on how to label your package.

What condition does the record need to be in?

Because we beautifully shape and accent the vinyl, the record cannot be severely warped, cracked, or brittle before shipping. Scratches, scuffs, and worn labels are completely fine and often add wonderful vintage character to the final piece!
